My career in working with learners began in 2009 when I started working in k-12 education. In addition to working with my students, I took on roles training other staff members in changing curriculum standards and various education tools. I also adapted curriculum to be entirely self-paced through the use of instructional videos and other media. The experience taught me about how all learners are unique individuals with different backgrounds and motivations.
Through my time working with learners of all ages, I have seen that the best learning experiences are those where the learner feels like they have accomplished something. When learning is engaging and, dare I say . . . fun, we take away more information and look forward to learning more in the future. I try to craft all my learning experiences with this in mind. My favorite part about designing instruction is the creative exercise of coming up with new ways to make lessons interesting and exciting.
I am a self-identified technology nerd who enjoys learning how to do just about anything on a computer. I even spend many of my weekends learning about programming, 3D modeling, and graphic design just for fun. My motto is, "It's possible to do just about anything - you just have to try new things until you figure it out."
